Guided Rock Scrambling in The Lakes and Dales

scrambling lake district

Scrambling is where climbing meets mountaineering, and a chance to scale some of The Lake District fells and mountains more directly by using both hands and feet on rocky ridges, gullies and faces

Get off the paths and tracks that everyone else follows to reach the summits to explore the more remote and challenging routes to the the top with one of our freindly local experts.

“more remote and challenging routes”

Our team of highly trained proffesionals will guide you every step of way and make sure the day is both safe and unforgetable as you visit some of the more exposed places of the The Lake District.

“both safe and unforgetable”

Scrambling in The Lake District options include classic acsents of Striding, Swirel and Sharp Edges along with many more routes up to mountain summits, epic ascents like Pillar Rock and among wetter Gorges and Gyhlls

We are all passionate and knowledgeable about the crags and mountains of The Lake District, where we spend most of our free and working time, so welcome the chance to share them with you too.

  • Rod wanted to climb Pillar Rock to complete his Birkett Round as described in Bills book “The Complete Lakeland Fells”
  • We met Rod and his pal Paul at Wasdale Head then Aled led them up Pillar Rock via the “Slab and Notch” route

“Please thank Aled again from both of us for a superb day, excellent guiding and instruction on Pillar Rock and excellent conversation throughout the day.  Thank you also for organising everything, the day couldn’t have been better apart from less haze but we can’t blame you for that!”
