Meet the team -
Lynn - Co founder of Door 2 Door Adventures who has also travelled the world both to work and seek adventures, a lover of all things outdoors Lynn has run marathons, climbed mountains, cycled across England coast to coast, canoed The Great Glen across Scotland and expored the Lake District extensivly. Having lived and worked in the heart of London for several years (something most of the team have never experienced) Lynn gives us an invaluble insight into what our guests are looking for, and ensures that we deliver it.
Aled - Growing up in Snowdonia, Aled was climbing mountains as soon as he could walk. He has gone on to climb all over the UK, in the Alps and extensively in the Atlas mountains. He holds the Mountaineering Instructor Award (MIA), Winter Mountain Leader award, is a qualified Canoe Coach, and Cave Leader.
Until very recently, he was the Head of a very busy LEA owned Outdoor Education Centre. Recent adventures include Ski Mountaineering in Norway, cycling solo coast to coast across the Pyrenees, and winter mountaineering in the Atlas mountains.
Alyn – has over 25 years of outdoors coaching, instructing, teaching and training experience with a wide range of clients from primary children to senior managers. He has extensive experience of designing, running and managing training to match client’s training outcomes.
He has lead expeditions to Scandinavia, Siberia, Arctic Alaska, Australia and throughout the UK, as well has having travelled and participating in canoeing, trekking, skiing and climbing expeditions to Greenland, New Zealand, Africa and Europe.
Alyn has qualifications in: Climbing, Mountaineering, Caving, kayaking, Canoeing, Sailing, Safety Boat Driving, First Aid, Safety Management and Holds an Honours Degree in Science & Outdoor Education, has summated several unclimbed mountains in Greenland and sailed from Norway to Scotland in the North Sea sailing race.
Mandy - has a wealth of experience and knowledge having instructed climbing, mountaineering and caving at all levels, from beginners to those wanting to improve their leading grades. She is a qualified teacher and holds the Mountain Instructors Award.
Mandy has climbed all over the world and also enjoys winter climbing, caving canoeing and skiing.
She is also involved in difficult roped access work, having been a supervisor for many years in this profession and also involved with the trade association. She has a detailed knowledge of technical matters involving climbing equipment, systems and methods, which she happily shares with our guests.
Renell -has a love for being outdoors, both at work and in her free time. She is an awesome mountain bike rider, at home on the most demanding trails throughout The Lakes and Dales.
Ren is also an accomplished fell runner, and can often be found out on the ridges and trails that the region is famous for – she loves to push her limits and has represented Great Britain – Racing in the off road triathlon Xterra off road world championships Maui 2015 where she came runner up in her age group.
Dave (Bear) - has been active in the mountains since childhood. A keen climber and mountaineer since his early teens, he was chair of Sheffield University Mountaineering club in the late 1980s. Throughout his teens and twenties he completed many major alpine mountaineering routes both in summer and winter conditions, as well as climbing regularly throughout the UK and the rest of the world.
Since 2005 he has worked as Sports Safety Coordinator for the University of Central Lancashire as well as being the rock climbing coach and climbing and mountaineering instructor for the University Mountaineering Club since 2003. He also works as an instructor on a freelance basis for Lancashire County Council and a range of private companies, as well as directly for the MoD in Scotland (ATCS) instructing all aspects of climbing and mountaineering as well as guiding challenges and a range of different rock climbing, mountaineering and survival events throughought the year.
In addition, he works as an associate lecturer with the Open University.
